GREEN KITCHEN STORIES’
TWIST BREAD Recipe
CAMPFIRE CARROT BREAD ON A STICK WITH PEANUT BUTTER & JAM
INGREDIENTS:
50 g fresh active yeast
6 dl / 600 ml lukewarm water
1 tsp honey
2 tsp sea salt
2 dl / 70 g rolled oats
1 dl / 60 g organic raisins
1 dl / 65 g sunflower seeds
2 carrots, finely grated
600 g wheat flour
350 g whole grain spelt flour
HOW TO
Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water (25°C / 75°F). Add honey, salt, seeds, raisins and grated carrots and stir well to combine. Add both flours and knead until the dough have come together. It can be a bit sticky. Cover the bowl with a tea towel. Set aside to rise for about an hour in room temperature.
The dough is ready for shaping into logs and twist around the wooden sticks. Bake the breads on sticks, turn often, until golden and hollow when tapping.
Turn back and forth a couple of times to loosen the bread from the stick. Serve with nut butter and jam of choice.
